Freakout Festival 7 Recap

Deaty Valley Girls

I am always excited to attend Freakout Fest, the line ups are always incredible.

I attended on Thursday, to catch The Shivas, as they are one of my favorite bands.  Visuals were provided by Mad Alchemy this year, one of the best visual artists in the USA.

I decided to stay at The Sunset Tavern on Friday and was not disappointed. Weep Wave and Beverly Crusher are great artists and I have seen them many times, and they always put on a great performance.

Beverly Crusher

The Sinister Six played after, and I had not heard of them, so was intrigued after I had read up on them as I am a fan of punk. They were incredible, so much energy and were a perfect fit before Monsterwatch.

Monsterwatch were the headliners in The Sunset. They are one of my favorite bands, and the crowds piled in , along with many other band photographers, the atmosphere was electric. They put on one of the best performances I have seen from them, and the crowd loved them.  This is a band that has really grown, they were always good, but they are in my opinion, one of the best bands in Seattle.

On Saturday one of my favorite bands, The Rare Forms were playing early so I caught them first.  After that I headed to The Tractor Tavern as their line up was stellar.

The Schizophonics were a band I had not seen before , and my mind was blown, where did they get their energy from? The crowd lapped it up and it was such a treat for music photographers to have so much opportunity for incredible shots.

Grizzled Mighty were next, I love them, they are so fun to shoot.  Ryan took the crowd to another level of excitement when he decided to crowd surf, leaving them wanting more.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers were next and were even better than when I last saw them.  Crowd surfing was now at a whole new level, the crowd was so excited I had to move from the pit. It was all in good fun.

Death Valley Girls headlined and put on an amazing show, as always.

Congratulations to Skyler and the Freakout family on another great festival.  It really is an amazing event , and Seattle should be proud of it.
