Do206 Throws Holiday Soiree at Crocodile

Our friends at Do206 undoubtedly know how to throw a party and we weren’t going to miss their holiday soiree this year at the Crocodile. Along with the main stage there was a party going on at the back bar with dj100proof and Blueyedsoul throughout the night. If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, a photo booth was in place along with props on the balcony level.  Needless to say that we had a blast at the show tonight.

The festive night started off with Portland’s Calm Candy who released their “How It Feels To Want” EP earlier in the year. Joe and Amelia shared their synth-pop music with us and we couldn’t get enough of it. Give the band a hear if you haven’t already, chances are you’ll like them like we did.

Next up was Seattle’s own Sisters, which is the genius music project of Emily Westman and Andrew Vait. The indie pop duo is releasing their debut album “Drink Champagne” on Valentine’s day. Andrew switches between keyboard and guitar, while Emily stands behind her drumset. It is nice to be able to see the drummer sing and play without being hidden in the back. Their music is explosive and they have great chemistry together, something that is very obvious when hearing them live.  They’ve already announced release party events on February 16th/17th and you should all be there to witness greatness.

Pickwick‘s “Can’t Talk Medicine”, which was released in 2013, is still a record I play at home. When they were announced as a headliner for tonight’s show it made 2016 feel a little better. It was a great way to spend one of the last shows watching this band play live. “Hacienda Motel”, and “Lady Luck”, with Sharon Van Etten, are good songs to start with in case you’ve never had the time to hit play on your Spotify. Singer Galen Disston has his own way of captivating the crowd and the band looked like they were having a great time tonight.  The soft vocals and catchy riffs will have you move all night leaving a feeling of joy once you depart.
