The Who Rocks Out the Key
No one can deny the influence and talent of the rock band formed in 1964. Their career has stretched over many decades providing much envy for anyone starting off in the business. Only a few other artists have the privilege to be around for so long and are able to completely rock the house. The Key Arena was lucky to get a round after the original date was postponed from September last year.
The lights turned low and the giant screen behind the stage read “Keep Calm Here Comes The Who” as the band took the stage. Founders Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend stood tall with their band and the show commenced for the next couple of hours filled with the band’s favorite songs. The night kicked off with “Who Are You”, “The Seeker”, and “The Kids Are Alright”, before driving the fans mad with “My Generation”.
Townshend did most of the talking for the night sharing old stories from the band’s journey. “My friend Roni told me to quit as he though our music was crap”, “I didn’t listed to him but he did tell me that I should write a song on the accordion which I did and it’s called Squeeze Box”.
The show went on with a very emotional “Behind Blue Eyes”, “Bargain”, Pete’s favorite track from Who’s Next LP, “You Better You Bet”, “The Rock”, and “Acid Queen” among others. The band seemed in happy spirits as they interacted with the audience during the show. During “Baba O’Riley”, Daltrey played the harmonica in the start that continued with a loud rock n’ roll performance. The night came to an end with “Won’t Get Fooled Again” as the famous brit rockers played their heart’s out one last time for us.
