Slothrust at Madame Lou’s
We headed down to Madame Lou‘s to celebrate Slothrust‘s ten-year anniversary shows of Of Course You Do. The band was in Seattle for two sold out shows over the last weekend of January playing some of our favorite tracks. They are currently touring the U.S. and have extended their dates so make sure you go to a show if they’re near you. You can also read our interview with Leah Wellbaum.
Opening the show was a band we’d never seen before but we were happy to find. Weakened Friends charmed the room starting the night off introducing many to a new group. Annie Hoffman who is the bassist for the band also played with Slothrust later on. We really liked her vibe along with Leah Wellbaum and drummer Will Gorin. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing them before, but it had been a while, and we really were reminded why we like them so much.
We had so much fun hearing the whole album and other favorite songs. The band also released a version of Ginuwine‘s hit song “Pony” a few months ago and we got to hear that as well. What a vibe and what a great song to remake into an indie version.
