Shame Delivers Punk to the Crocodile
The British band who has taken the music world by storm this year was in town for an incredible live performance at the legendary Crocodile. After releasing their debut record ‘Songs of Praise’ earlier this year, Shame have been touring creating massive buzz and raw punk rock shows in every city they play. We were lucky to catch them and the show became one of our top gigs this year.
There is nothing that can be written that can accurately describe the chaos created by the entire band during their show. There is constant movement, audience interaction, mayhem, pure madness, and great punk rock moments that are rare to come by these days. These guys take their roles very seriously and no one leaves unsatisfied. Within the first few songs lead singer Charlie Steen is found crowd surfing and pumping up the crowd for what’s to follow for the rest of the night.
At one point we notice lead guitarist Josh Finerty through his constant running from side to side impossible to just stand in one place also do a one handed flip, while still holding his guitar. Nothing seems planned and is created through the passion of the live set which makes the show even more pleasing to watch. We all came to be a part of this greatness and it was more than what we expected, can’t wait for these guys to return again. Highlights were our favorites, “Angie,” “One Rizla,” and “Concrete.” Our favorite moment was when Steen balanced himself in the hands of the crowd singing in the most captivating way.
