MISSIO at Madame Lou’s
Alternative electronic duo MISSIO’s, I Am Cinco, tour came through Madame Lou’s last week following their May 2024 release of the five-part album, I Am Cinco (I am sad. I am high, I am awesome. I am angry. I am crazy). I got to meet tour opener Layto (@iamlayto) – He and his tour manger were very kind and Layto gave an energetic performance, and the crowd captivated with his songs about toxic past relationships, bi-polar disorder, and addiction.
I first became aware of MISSIO members, Matthew Brue and David Butler (@dtbutler) in 2020, after I heard their song “I See You” for the first time and it became a revolving top song in my playlists, not just for their unique sound, but their lyrics that carry so much emotion as well. Before the show, they were intentionally interacting with their fans and having meaningful conversations about the music that meant so much to all of them.
The lights dimmed and MISSIO came out with their touring band members, Joey Castro (@joeycastro.1) on drums and Scott Garrett Graham (@scottgarrettgraham) on guitar. MISSIO played all the big songs off their albums Loner, The Darker the Weather // The Better The Man, Love Me Whole, Can You Feel The Sun, VILLAIN, and then their newest singles “Cherry Waves.” The crowd ranged from a varying intensity of emotions from joyous dancing to leaning on the stage and side railings and hanging onto every word of the songs that touch on mental health and using the time that we have here wisely, nothing is guaranteed. MISSIO gave Seattle an emotional performance and their fans really enjoyed it.
