Manatee Commune Ends Successful LP tour with Neumos show

It is always a thrill when we have the chance to check out local artists especially when they are so talented.   On this Friday night we headed down to Neumos in Capitol Hill to catch Maiah Manser and Manatee Commune who played a few Northwest dates in support of his self-titled LP release.

Dream Journal and jamie blake opened the night and then Manser continued by seducing the packed venue with her incredible voice. She is so captivating there is no way you could take your eyes of her when she’s performing. She did a very sweet cover of “I’ll Put A Spell On You”, which will take a while to get out of my head. The pairing of her soft gloomy vocals and music with MC’s high energy set makes for a very interesting night.

At the center of the stage Manatee Commune’s aka Grant Eadie’s set up is arranged with all the controls, laptop, keyboards, guitar, and violin, ready to be grabbed during his set. He is a talented multi-instrumentalist that adds character to his songs by creating a unique live show. He’s not a DJ he’s not in a band but it feels like he’s combined both to make his own world. We like it there a lot.   Make sure to catch him and hear his LP when you get a chance!
