Frankie and the Witch Fingers rage at Barboza
We knew that the Frankie and the Witch Fingers show at Seattle’s Barboza would be an event not to miss. You know it’s going to be a good show when local heroes, Monsterwatch take the stage as the opener. Lead singer John Spinney spared no time going straight into his characteristic, wild antics to stir the crowd up—at one point giving his guitar to some front row fans to help with the shred. Monsterwatch played a 12-song set and wrapped with a wild performance of “Somewhere.”
Surf’s up! If you love a good mosh pit look no further, Frankie and the Witch Fingers know how to rock. No crescendo here, these guys turn it up to eleven from the get-go. Fans took turns jumping from the stage into the pit, diving headfirst into the crowd with reckless abandon.
Lead singer/guitarist Dylan Sizemore took the crowd on a wild ride along with the rest of the band,
guitarist Josh Menashe, drummer Shaughnessy Starr, and bassist Nikki Pickle, who we are huge fans of since the first time we saw her in Death Valley Girls.
Sometimes you save a banger for the encore but when you’ve left it all on the stage during the set you stick with the classics. Frankie and the Witch Fingers wrapped heir set with a rowdy cover of “I wanna be your dog,” by The Stooges. Guitarist Dylan Sizemore dropped his guitar and lead the audience in a sing along before jumping into the crowd. It was loud, sweaty and a goddamn good time.
