Bartees Strange charms Neumos crowd
The crowd at Neumos was in for a special treat tonight with Bartees Strange. The artist, who released their second album, Farm to Table, earlier this year has been one of the most talked about acts in 2022. Steadily building his fanbase and touring with some of the best-known bands. This is his first headlining tour and it’s been mostly sold out with the audience visibly knowing most of the words to the songs.
The show was high energy and Stranges‘ charisma was apparent along with his enthusiasm and emotional depth. About halfway in his set he covered The National‘s, “Lemonworld,” amazingly making it sound like his own. Then a couple songs down he shared that he wrote “Hold the Line,” for George Floyd‘s daughter after processing the news about his death. It made him think about how she would have to grow up so fast and brought up his own journey growing up in Mustang, Oklahoma.
The night ended with a lot of dancing with, “Heavy Heart,” “Boomer,” and “Hennessy.” This was an incredible night to be a part of and happy to finally catch this talented artist. I’m sure Strange is going to go on to do many more amazing things and host many sold out events.
