Milo Greene Return to Seattle

It had been almost two years since Seattle had a chance to catch Milo Greene at a show near town, and when their Sunset concert was announced anticipation grew stronger. The band who released their Never Ender EP a few months back, returned with a new member and reminded us all why we love them so much. This was the last night of their West Coast tour playing to mostly sold out rooms.

The venue got crowded early as Seattle’s own Black Giraffe kicked the night off with their catchy pop tunes, bringing the party to Ballard. If you haven’t heard their music before check out their latest, Talk Cheap EP, which includes a few earworm tracks. They were a great choice as openers as their vibes and tunes fit right in with what would follow from the main act.

As the bands switched over the packed venue cheered in excitement, making everyone there feel lucky to make it in. The band took the stage with Marlana Sheetz standing in the middle, Graham Fink to her left, and Robbie Arnett to her right, setting up their three way dynamic as Curtis Marrero sat behind the drums. What is still so special about this band is the power to complement each other’s voices so well, creating the perfect harmonies.

The band impressed by playing old favorites and new material that had the crowd absolutely in a trance. Before “Lonely Eyes”, Sheetz shared that she was going to play yet another song about unrequited love because that was all she could write about. Fink stopped a moment to thank all the fans for selling out their shows, and how great it felt to come back after two years and still feel so much love. He also mentioned that Seattle holds a special place in their hearts as they recorded their eponymous debut in the famous Bear Creek Studios.

While Sheetz and Arnett held most of the song leads Fink impressed with his explosive “When It’s Done”, that had the audience wondering what just happened on stage. No encore was needed as they used the time to just play an extra song and ended with popular “1957”, which sounded heavenly. If you’ve never heard their music, do yourself a favor and take a listen. After a few tunes you would want them to write the soundtrack to your life.
