Sales + Tangerine at the Crocodile
Many Seattleites obsessed over finding Temple of the Dog tickets on this Sunday night but many preferred to catch a great bill of bands at the historic Crocodile. With Thanksgiving coming up many were in a holiday mood especially if they were not going to work the next morning.
The show started off with locals Washboard Abs and Tangerine that has been touring with Sales for some West Coast dates. It’s always nice to catch local bands and support their music, it’s what makes our city creating and unique. Sisters Marika, on vocals and Miro, on drums along with Toby are a great combo together. The band released their “Sugar Teeth” EP earlier this year and has gained momentum touring the US including local festivals. This was the last night of their tour and it was a great way to end in their hometown to a crowd who supports them.
Shortly after Sales took the stage and the vibe continued to be chill and dreamy. The combo with Tangerine on tour seems to fit so well as they both have very similar sound dynamics. Singer/guitarist Lauren Morgan stood stage left wearing a Tangerine shirt, showing her support for their band, and Jordan Shih was on the right playing guitar and helping with backing vocals. The only other member was their drummer, and the three of them sounded fantastic through the night. It’s really funny that they have named their record “Sales LP”, which was released this year, and their songs before “Sales EP”. I wonder what comes next. We really dig tracks “Getting It On”, Big Sis”, “Renee”, and “Jamz”. It was a perfect night to catch all these talented people, it was a great way to end/start the week.
