Bob Moses brings Love Brand New to Seattle
Excited fans headed to Seattle’s Showbox SoDo venue to catch the electronic duo Bob Moses on their second to last tour date. The band consisting of Tom Howie and Jim Vallance were in town supporting their latest record, The Silence in Between. The space was packed and it felt like the place to be on Friday night after enjoying a nice Seattle day.
When it was time to take the stage Howie posted up to the right and Vallance to the left behind his keyboards. Their set kicked off with “Time and Time Again,” and “Back Down.” The night steadily gained momentum as fans danced around to the good vibe sounds of the duo. Songs about unrequited love and desire that can be so sad find a new way to exist in a better way, dancing them out and letting go.
The Vancouver based act interacted with their fans a few times the most memorable being Vallance sharing they used to come down to Seattle when they were younger a lot and how they always saw our city as the cooler cousin. The cousin that introduced them to Depeche Mode and the Smiths for the first time on vinyl.
Their set ended strong with earworm new song, “Never Ending,” “Broken Belief,” and their ZHU collaboration, “Desire.” Once they returned they gloriously covered INXS‘ “Need You Tonight,” both of them playing guitars and dancing around in the middle of the floor. The night ended with “Love Brand New,” closing out a perfect live show everyone enjoyed.
