Wet Leg at The Crocodile

Wet Leg had The Crocodile expectedly packed despite their skinny discography starting in 2021. Featuring a double frontwoman configuration, both jamming through upbeat non-sissy alt songs. Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers came to attention when they released “Chaise Longue” last year. Their eponymous debut is scheduled for release on April 8th, and we can’t wait for the rest of the world to pick up on this amazing band. They’re having fun, it was clear the crowd was as well. Beach balls float through the room matched with smiles and laughter. The age range of attendees varied noticeably on both ends of spectrum.

In Seattle, shows like these indicate an artist to follow. Potential bubbles to the brim of the room with music that rolls like sea waves making us impatiently anticipate sun, summertime, block parties and more. Wet Legs’ lyricism intertwines modern inner monologues camouflaged in naïveté (you’re so woke, diet coke). Singing about parties we only go to for free beer, not wanting to follow someone on the ‘gram, as well as not needing tinder to validate our image.

Wet Leg is cool, and they don’t have to convince you. This is the same cool they rode into Seattle on from SXSW, sporting a cowboy hat of course. The same cool that unites Seattle’s music connoisseurs from all over the city into one room, looking for the same ambiance. Keep your eye on Wet Leg, we’re excited to see how they match up to their potential.
