KEXP New Home Grand Opening
KEXP is finally ready to share their new space with the public in a very impressive celebration that proves why we love the station so much. They do a tremendous amount of work with local and international artists and support the Seattle music scene in so many ways.
The space is on the corner of Republican right in the heart of Seattle Center and the stages were set inside the gathering space looking into the live broadcast and in the courtyard outside. There was also a beer garden that was dry by 7pm thanks to all the attendees that came out to support the new home.
Not only did we get to hang out downtown on a sunny Saturday, we got to hear some amazing bands for free at the event. Great artists like, Strand of Oaks, Samaris, Bob Mould, Hey Marseilles, Deep Sea Diver, and the much talked about, Car Seat Headrest came out to play as their live performances were broadcasted at the same time.
The space includes La Marzocco cafĂ© that is so good in the gathering space, along with printed photographs from events sponsored by KEXP to observe in the back. In a space next to in they hosted an interactive installation “Inside the Music of KEXP”, that many enjoyed visiting and playing around with.
