Pillow Queens and Scarves at Madame Lou’s
One of our favorite Irish bands was back in Seattle performing at Madame Lou‘s. Pillow Queens formed in 2016 and consists of co-lead vocalists Pamela Connolly and Sarah Corcoran (who both swap between playing rhythm guitar and bass), lead guitarist/backing vocalist Cathy McGuinness and drummer/backing vocalist Rachel Lyons. Since their debut, In Waiting was released in 2020 the band has been praised for their lyrical content and vulnerability in their songs. They are currently on tour supporting their third studio album, Name Your Sorrow.
Opening the night was a local band Scarves who have been getting popular over the last year. You should check out their KEXP session as they stopped by the legendary radio station and recorded a few songs. The talented 4-piece took the floor and captivated the room before the main act. Niko Stathakopoulos and Nessa Grasing playfully banter with each other and the crowd as folks cheered them on appreciating their humor. They just released their latest album, Delicate Creatures, in August.
