Los Bitchos and Faux Real at the Crocodile
Los Bitchos were in town supporting their second record, Talkie Talkie, at the Crocodile. The pan-continental band consists of Western Australian-born Serra Petale, Uruguayan Agustina Ruiz, Swede Josefine Jonsson, and South London-born Nic Crawshaw. They mostly play instrumental music in the cumbia style. We’ve been following them since their debut and went to their first show at Tractor a couple of years ago and we just can’t get enough.
The venue was packed from early on there to also see openers Faux Real who have been building their fanbase with their fun performances. Brothers Elliott and Virgil Arndt founded the project in 2018, releasing genre-bending tracks, playing shows reminiscent of a Eurodance Iggy Pop, and bringing their one-of-a-kind sound globally, supporting acts like Duran Duran, Paramore, and Wet Leg. We’ve been fans since we caught their set at this year’s SXSW. Known amongst punks and poptimists alike for years, they’re finally releasing their highly anticipated debut album Faux Ever this fall via the legendary indie label City Slang on Friday, October 11.
