Remi Wolf kicks off Big Ideas tour in Seattle

We were on our way to the legendary Paramount theater downtown, and thought about how amazing it would be to play the place as an artist. Remi Wolf was opening her official, Big Ideas, tour in Seattle with two nights at the historic venue. That seems like an incredible accomplishment for the young star who caught our attention as a contestant on American Idol back in 2014. Wolf hailing from Palo Alto, California, followed up with her debut EP, You’re a Dog! in 2019. She received praises for her debut, Juno and recently even more success with her second album, Big Ideas. You can easily notice her growth as an artist as she explores multiple themes while keeping her unique voice and creativity.

The fans packed the venue on a Friday night, and you could see colorful outfits everywhere. People were here to have a good time with their favorite artist, and it was easy to sense their excitement. Remi Wolf took the stage shortly after nine and brought her high energy to the room. The show kicked off with “Cherries & Cream,” “Cinderella,” and “Pitiful.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many high kicks in such a short period of time in the pit. Wolf did not stop moving around the stage, constantly engaging with her fans that were giving it right back to her.

The night followed in the same tone as fans sang along to the hit tunes. Wolf covered Steely Dan‘s “Peg,” which was a surprise, but it was great to hear it in her voice. The most fun part of the night for us came after this as she was chatting with her fans and asked them to just tell her some words and that she would write a song from scratch for the show. From this exercise “Tomato Aliens with Restraining Orders,” was created. You definitely couldn’t tell she was making it up as she went as it was so natural to play it. The song was quite catchy for just being put together.

Remi Wolf continued with an uplifting “Waves,” before asking her band to come to the stage with her to performing a dance routine for a few minutes before going into a memorable, “Toro.” The dance routine had the crowd going wild as everyone moved around and joined the fun. The main set ended with favorite, “Disco Man,” and “Soup.”

Wolf and her band returned for an encore as the audience cheered on. The show’s stage production and lighting were top notch as everything was perfectly lit and carried out flawlessly throughout the night. The last song was the one probably most were waiting to hear, “Photo ID.” Wolf demonstrated why she’s been getting so much attention over the last few years. She’s an incredible live performer and a powerhouse pop artist. Her storytelling and infectious tunes make her stand out as she constantly pushes boundaries and captivates audiences.
